From the homeschool years, to the Tupac years, to selling books door to door in North Carolina…little of Jonathan’s journey has fit the script for a “normal” path to ministry.

Jonathan was raised in a strong Christian home where family devotionals, the study of God’s Word and prayer were a regular part of family life. After coming to faith at the age of 8 in a Baptist church, God instilled in Jonathan a strong sense of mission, faith and passion. However, Jonathan’s plan was to pursue marketing, advertising and sales. It took a few years of dodging God and finally a chapel altar in Ukraine before Jonathan crucified his agenda and plans for God’s calling on his life to be a pastor.

After graduating from Texas A&M with a marketing degree, Jonathan joined the staff of a small church plant in Pearland, Texas. Following Pearland, he spent six years on staff as a Student Pastor and then Associate Pastor of Family Ministry and Discipleship at Northway Baptist (Angleton, TX) while completing a Masters of Christian Education at Dallas Theological Seminary. Jonathan then served as a marriage pastor from 2010-2011 at Second Baptist Houston. From there, he returned to his roots as a church planter, becoming the Community Pastor at Christ Community Church (Magnolia, TX).

Jonathan has a passion for relational discipleship, for families and for preaching God’s Word. In early 2013, he felt the call to take the vision of radical diversity/ real discipleship/ restoration displayed into the heart of Bryan, Texas. RCB unofficially launched in September 2013 in the home of the Brooks as a small Bible study gathering. From there it morphed into a small worship gathering as more were added to the mix. In February 2014 we launched Sunday services on 24th St. in Downtown Bryan. Our core group continued to grow and in August 2014 we became official members of the Acts 29 Church Planting Network. As of September 2020, Restoration Church Bryan officially outgrew our Sunday morning worship space at 1401 W. MLK in Bryan at Hope Crossing. We are now currently meeting at the Icehouse on Main in Bryan temporarily until we are able to move into our NEW & PERMANENT church building! Join us!
