RCB Kids Ministry exists to disciple children through relationships, teaching them the full counsel of the Word of God; furthermore, our desire is to partner with parents to help families know Christ and grow in Him. Each Sunday in RCB Kids, children (ages 3 mos. to 6th grade) are taught Biblical truths through Bible study, worship songs, games, and crafts. We encourage children and families to memorize Scripture, learn catechism through song, and talk about Jesus throughout the course of the week. If you are interested in resources for your family, let us know! We’d be happy to come alongside you and help with ideas for family devotionals and intentional discipleship in your home.
GOD'S WORD: Our goal is to instill the full counsel of God’s Word in our children by walking them systematically through Scripture while keeping our teaching Christ-centered and gospel-centered (not man-centered).
RELATIONSHIPS: Our goal is to reflect God’s love by building relationships with the children he places in our care. We show them we love them by getting to know their personalities, keeping positive attitudes, engaging them in conversation and learning, and reflecting God’s gracious character to them.
PARENTS: Our goal is to partner with parents in discipleship through family devotionals, building bridges to Missional Community Groups, through events, and through constant communication.
WHERE DO I TAKE MY KIDS ON SUNDAY MORNINGS?
RCB Kids ministry (specific to age and grade level) takes place during the 9am service. However, we do offer childcare and a children's Bible study during the 11am service.
All children should be signed in at the check-in desk, which is located on your left immediately as you enter the building. You may begin checking in your kids at 8:45 a.m. Greeters will direct you to the desk, where you will sign in your child. Currently, RCB Kids is divided up into five classes.
At the check-in desk, our friendly RCB Kids volunteer will help direct your child to the appropriate class.
WHAT SHOULD I BRING?
Children from birth to potty training should have a diaper bag or backpack that is clearly labeled. This bag should include plenty of diapers or pull-ups, a weather-appropriate change of clothes, snacks (for children with allergies), sippy cups or bottles that are clearly labeled, and any formula or breast milk that may be needed. Feel free to use a sticky label at the check-in desk if you need to label any of your child’s supplies.
WHO RECEIVES SNACKS IN RCB KIDS?
All children in RCB Kids will be offered a snack of a type of cracker and water. If your child has a specific food allergy or dietary restrictions that keeps them from eating the provided snacks, please bring an individual snack and give it to their teacher upon check-in. Please also make special note of the allergy sign at the Kids Check-in table. When special activities require a tasting or smelling of anything out of the ordinary, it will be listed as a precaution. Please notify us if your child is allergic to anything listed. For babies, please bring a bottle along with instructions for when to give it (if required), or utilize the nursing area mentioned in the next section.
WHAT SAFETY POLICIES AND PROCEDURES DO YOU EMPLOY?
Prior to serving, every volunteer has meet with an RCB leader, received awareness training through Ministry Safe, and passed a background check. Volunteers also receive regular RCB Kids specific training and wear an RCB Kids t-shirt.
Upon check-in, parents receive a 3 digit alphanumeric that matches that of their child's or children's name tag(s). Parents are asked to show and return this tag to the teacher upon check out. For security purposes, parents may not enter the RCB Kids area without showing a tag and being escorted by an RCB Kids volunteer.
WHAT ABOUT HEALTH CONCERNS?
We have a 24 hour well policy, which means that children must be free of fever, vomiting, rash, pink eye, head lice, or illness for at least 24 hours before entering the children’s area.
***Please notify us upon check-in if your child has any allergies or special needs.***
WHAT ABOUT OLDER CHILDREN?
We believe it is important for children to witness their parents worshipping Christ and studying their Bible. Therefore, children 7th grade and up attend church with their parents. However, RCB Student Ministry happens every Sunday night from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. We hope to come alongside our youth to teach and encourage them to pursue a deeper relationship with God. Have your child bring a Bible as we dig into scripture together.
The Gospel Project - this is the current curriculum used by RCB Kids. The Gospel Project® is a chronological, Christ-centered Bible study for Kids, Students, and Adults that examines how all Scripture gives testimony to Jesus Christ.
