RCB Kids Ministry exists to disciple children through relationships, teaching them the full counsel of the Word of God; furthermore, our desire is to partner with parents to help families know Christ and grow in Him. Each Sunday in RCB Kids, children (ages 3 mos. to 6th grade) are taught Biblical truths through Bible study, worship songs, games, and crafts. We encourage children and families to memorize Scripture, learn catechism through song, and talk about Jesus throughout the course of the week. If you are interested in resources for your family, let us know! We’d be happy to come alongside you and help with ideas for family devotionals and intentional discipleship in your home.
GOD'S WORD: Our goal is to instill the full counsel of God’s Word in our children by walking them systematically through Scripture while keeping our teaching Christ-centered and gospel-centered (not man-centered).
RELATIONSHIPS: Our goal is to reflect God’s love by building relationships with the children he places in our care. We show them we love them by getting to know their personalities, keeping positive attitudes, engaging them in conversation and learning, and reflecting God’s gracious character to them.
PARENTS: Our goal is to partner with parents in discipleship through family devotionals, building bridges to Missional Community Groups, through events, and through constant communication.
WHERE DO I TAKE MY KIDS ON SUNDAY MORNINGS?
RCB Kids ministry (specific to age and grade level) takes place during our 10 AM service.
All children should be signed in at the check-in desk, which is located through the entrance to the left of the main doors. You may begin checking in your kids 15 minutes prior the start of the service. Currently, RCB Kids is divided up into the following classes.
At the check-in desk, an RCB Kids volunteer will help direct your child to the appropriate class.
Not sending your kids to the back?
That is totally ok! With COVID-19, we understand and want to support you as much as we can. Age appropriate activity bags are available at the back of the sanctuary. All curriculum is accessible online as well. Email firstname.lastname@example.org if you would like to have access to our resources to teach your children at home.
WHAT SHOULD I BRING?
Children from birth to potty training should have a diaper bag or backpack that is clearly labeled. This bag should include plenty of diapers or pull-ups, a weather-appropriate change of clothes, snacks (for children with allergies), sippy cups or bottles that are clearly labeled, and any formula or breast milk that may be needed. Feel free to use a sticky label at the check-in desk if you need to label any of your child’s supplies. Please let our baby room lead know of anything your child may need.
WHO RECEIVES SNACKS IN RCB KIDS?
All children in RCB Kids will be offered a snack of a type of cracker and water. If your child has a specific food allergy or dietary restrictions that keeps them from eating the provided snacks, please bring an individual snack and give it to us upon check-in. Please also make special note of the allergy sign at the Kids Check-in table. When special activities require a tasting or smelling of anything out of the ordinary, it will be listed as a precaution. Please notify us if your child is allergic to anything listed. For babies, please bring a bottle along with instructions for when to give it (if required).
WHAT SAFETY POLICIES AND PROCEDURES DO WE EMPLOY?
Prior to serving, every volunteer has filled out a safety application, met with an RCB leader, received awareness training through Ministry Safe, had multiple reference checks, and passed a background check. Volunteers also receive regular RCB Kids specific training.
Upon check-in, parents receive a 4 digit alphanumeric that matches that of their child's or children's name tag(s). Parents are asked to show and return this tag to the teacher upon check out. For security purposes, parents may not enter the RCB Kids area without showing a tag and being escorted by an RCB Kids volunteer.
Due to COVID, children 5 years of age or older are asked to wear a mask. Parents will not be allowed to enter the Kids area for safety.
WHAT ABOUT HEALTH CONCERNS?
We have a 24 hour well policy, which means that children must be free of fever, vomiting, rash, pink eye, head lice, or illness for at least 24 hours before entering the children’s area.
***Please notify us upon check-in if your child has any allergies or special needs.***
WHAT ABOUT OLDER CHILDREN?
We believe it is important for children to witness their parents worshipping Christ and studying their Bible. Therefore, children 7th grade and up attend church with their parents. However, RCB Student Ministry happens every Sunday night from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. We hope to come alongside our youth to teach and encourage them to pursue a deeper relationship with God. Have your child bring a Bible as we dig into scripture together. Check out our RCB Youth page!
The Gospel Project - this is the current curriculum used by RCB Kids. The Gospel Project® is a chronological, Christ-centered Bible study for Kids, Students, and Adults that examines how all Scripture gives testimony to Jesus Christ.
Each summer, RCB Kids heads over to Camp Tejas in Giddings, TX for a fun filled and gospel focused week! You can find out more on our events page HERE.
